Yusufu Scouts to Nabwalya
From 16 to 22 August, 17 Yusufu Scouts (leaders) went on foot to Nabwalya in the Rift-valley.
They started from Mwamfushi, near Mpika. Three days of hard walking with sore feet in the heat and watching out for wild animals. The scouts were from Chilonga, Katibunga, St. Andrew’s, St. Joseph’s and St. Monica’s in Mpika as well as Chibaye and Nabwalya.
They crossed the Munyamadzi river on foot waiting for the crocs to attack… Arrived at Nabwalya they helped Fr. Waldemar, the parish priest, for one full day with the new buildings. On their way they saw elephants, hippos and crocodiles. It was a real adventure and the leaders enjoyed the trip.
They elected Joseph Mulenga from Chilonga as a new member for the Diocesan Coordinating Team, replacing the late Albert Chota. Thanks to the patron saint, St. Joseph, everybody reached home again safely. Yusufu, abo wapambana!
