The Women of Mpika Diocese Present Mother Theresa Fund to the Apostolic Administrator
On the Saturday, 28th November 2015, the women from different parishes gathered at St. Monica Parish for thanksgiving mass marking the closure of the liturgical year. The theme for their gathering was “What returns can I give to the Lord for his Goodness to me.” The mass was celebrated by the Apostolic Administrator the most Rev. Ignatious Chama. At the end of this mass the women offered mother Theresa Fund to the archbishop.
Mother Theresa fund is the women’s initiative aimed at helping the diocese to pay tuition fees for the seminarians. This year they presented a cheque of K28,328.00. Every year a parish that contributes more than other is given a trophy.
This year the trophy is given to Nakonde parish. In his vote of thanks, the archbishop urged the women to continue with this good spirit and implored parish priests to support them because what urges them to help springs out from their nature as mothers.
